Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, has donated 1000 bags of cement and 20 thousand cedis to facilitate the completion of the Effiduase Asokore Zango Central Mosque project in the Ashanti region.
He was fulfilling his promise when he attended a funeral of the mother of Hajia Zainab Sallow, Ashanti region manager of MASLOC.
The final funeral rites of Ramatu Sallow was held on August 28, 2021 in the community.
A request was made by the management of the mosque for support to complete the extended facility to accommodate the growing number of Muslims in the area.
Dr. Bawumia promised to deliver the 1000 bags of cement needed for the completion of the mosque.
The cement bags were presented to the community by the Ashanti regional minister, Simon Osei Mensah and Hajia Zainab on behalf of the Vice President.
Mr. Osei Mensah said the Vice President is committed to developing Zangos across the country.
He recounts how the NPP-led government is impacting lives especially in deprived communities across the country.
Mr. Osei Mensah personally donated 100 bags of cement and thousand cedis to support the project.
Hajia Zainab Sallow described the donation as an honour to her and the community.
Muslim leadership in the community expressed gratitude to the Vice President for the support.
